Hong Kong

A former colony of the United Kingdom, Hong Kong became a part of China in 1997. Its 8 million inhabitants have a long history of capitalistic enterprise and trade with the western world. Today, the majority of Hong Kong residents work in service industries such as banking, telecommunications, retail, and tourism. Hong Kong is a city full of museums, galleries, temples, parks, outdoor markets and restaurants and has long been a favourite destination for Canadian students and travelers looking to experience a flavour of Chinese culture.

The site in Hong Kong for the AYJGlobal program this summer is Law Ting Pong Secondary School, 8 Ma Chung Road, Tai Po, New Territories.
